And lastly, there was a great Washington Post piece about our game. Here’s a bit of the story:

“DENVER (Billboard) – When avid technophile Mike Shinoda was approached backstage last year with an idea for developing a Linkin Park iPhone game, the band’s co-frontman knew he wanted it to be more than just another run-of-the-mill artist app.

“It was important to us to do something creative and fun,” he says. “We didn’t want to throw a bunch of songs at the game, slap our name on it and cash the checks.”
The result is “8-Bit Rebellion,” a soon-to-be-released iPhone game with an iPad version on the way. Whereas most artist-branded games tend to be rhythm-based, “8-Bit Rebellion” is an action game that has users fighting enemies alongside members of the band. The soundtrack features several Linkin Park hits in both standard and 8-bit fidelity, plus an exclusive track, “Blackbirds,” for fans who complete the game.
But according to Maryanna Donaldson, creative director of the game’s developer, Artificial Life, the real innovation was the degree to which Linkin Park was involved. Each band member helped design a different “district” in which the game takes place, personalized to his individual interests. Shinoda designed the members’ avatars and edited every line of dialogue. The process wound up taking the better part of a year, but Donaldson says the result sets a new bar for artist-branded apps."

Texas Stadium: Tinggal Kenangan

Texas Stadium, Dallas, di mana Linkin Park pernah merekam album "Live In Texas" (2003) dalam bentuk DVD , diledakkan kemarin. Selama dua hari, 2 sampai 3 Agustus 2003, Linkin Park beserta kru tur merekam DVD live yang mencakup 17 lagu hit mereka saat pembukaan Metallica's Summer Sanitarium Tour. Dallas merupakan salah satu dari dua lokasi tempat mereka merekam video live tersebut. Yang satunya adalah di Houston.

“Death to analog” was first released on March 2009 in the USA. How were the reactions on it?
Ryan: Great, yes, the reactions were great. The album already
is in some charts and inside of the Top 10 of electronic charts. I
heard from a lot of fans it’s their favourite record. We sign every day
a lot of CDs; we sign Orgy-CDs, Dead by Sunrise CDs, Linkin Park CDs
and Julien-K CDs. Those fans from all the other bands do really love
the Julien-K. They really support it and come to every show. We wanted
to create a record which we would love and the fans would love, too.
When I step out and watch from outside on Julien-K, I ask the question,
what would I like, what would turn me on. Right now it would be a band
that has a look like we have on stage and how we perform. We want to
play electronic music that really rocks. We want to create real rock
concerts but with an electronic feeling, darker and sexier. We started
Julien-K for this reason.

Update: Ternyata Mike dan Chester melakukan 3 kali video streaming. Yang di atas hanyalah yang bagian pertama saja. Setelah benar-benar dispam oleh 1000 user lebih, mereka berdua kembali lagi ke uStream dan Chester mengkonfirmasi bahwa 8-Bit Rebellion akan dirilis pada 26 April mendatang, ditambah lagi Mike bercerita tentang salah satu demo MTM yang berjudul "Grecian". Dia mengatakan bahwa lagu itu tidak pernah selesai dan dipotong, karena sebenarnya "Phoenix" sudah menulis lirik dalam lagu tersebut, namun saat itu tanpa sepengetahuan Mike. Mereka juga memberitahu beberapa judul demo dari album baru (sangat unik) tetapi mereka mengatakan tidak satupun dari demo-demo terebut punya kesempatan baik untuk dimasukkan ke dalam album. Berikut adalah judul demonya:
1. Idea #62
2. Chicken Basket
3. Please Don't Eat My Cow
4. Dingleberry

Mike join ulang uStream beberapa jam lalu untuk yang ketiga kalinya dan dia menyatakan bahwa mereka telah membuat channel uStream resmi untuk Linkin Park. Jadi, akun yang dia pakai sekarang hanya untuk iseng-iseng saja.
